DYNAMARINe Academy Training Course: BEHAVIOR BASED SAFETY 12 JANUARY, 2022

Course aim and objectives: Behavior Based Safety (BBS) is an approach to safety which focuses on employees' behavior as the contributing factor, based on statistics, of most work-related injuries and incidents. Moreover, at risk behaviors are the least measurable and observable events before workplace injuries take place. During this course participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences and develop new skills on Behavior Based Safety for enhancing a systematic approach to motivate safer behavior and improve safety performance in the workplace environment which can also influence culture, in line with the use of the latest technological advances applicable to the maritime industry

• BBS principles, pattern and structure
• BBS process with application to shipping
• Contributing factors to work related injuries
• Determining decision, skill-based and perceptual errors
• Conditions and practices of shipping operators
• Actions taken to reduce human error
• Resource management techniques enhancing BBS
• Strategies for implementing the BBS process
• Seafarers' involvement in the BBS process
• Motivating safer behavior for improving safety performance

Participation: The course is open to shipping company managers, superintendents and company seafarers who need to understand how to best participate and implement the Behavior Based Safety process

Course duration: 1 day This training program is provided in 6-hours with real time instruction through zoom platform in a pre-scheduled interactive learning session

Participation: The course is open to shipping company corporate management, technical, operations, quality, safety managers, DPAs, fleet superintendents, masters and shipboard team members involved in the implementation of risk assessment & incident investigation process for continual improvement and integrity of the system
