Hiring STS Screening Operators


The Position is for Operators who have a background in the Shipping business and good communication/ perception skills. Duties are related to the development of RISK ASSESSMENTS at the platform of DYNAMARINe and respond to clients when requested

As an STS Screening operator

  • You will develop skills and knowledge about the Tanker/ LPG and LNG ship operations as related to STS.
  • You will get to know ship operation patterns and loading/ unloading logistics, related to STS
  • You will learn international regulations and best practices around STS
  • You will start becoming an STS expert, gaining contact with major tanker owners globally and supporting DYNAMARINe on the day-to-day business. Our operators become the contact plug between DYNAMARINe and Ship Operators

The following are needed from candidates:

  • Excellent use of English;
  • Knowledge of Ship Technology aspects;
  • Have the capacity to be adaptive and resourceful to challenges;
  • Gain the trust of the rest team in DYNAMARINe;
  • Prior experience in the sector will be positive;
  • Flexibility in working hours. Although we all work on 8-hour shifts, candidates have to be flexible in order to comply with the schedule of the work

The following Stages will apply to Operators

Stage 1 (first 3 months)

  • Undertaking Intensive Training;
  • Performing the Screening of nominated vessels for STS operations;
  • Perform verification and log on the post-STS feedback assessment reports;
  • Participating in the toolbox talks of the OPS department;

After Completion of Stage 1 the operator will be assessed prior to entering the following stages. The assessment includes oral and written work.

Stage 2 (4-36 months)

  • Tasks of Stage 1,
  • Communicate with Clients for troubleshooting on the Screening;
  • Prepare and execute STS drills/tabletop exercises;
  • Design STS drills/tabletop exercises;
  • Handling of STS Statistics with the assistance of senior operators
  • Participating in the preparation of the training material;
  • Participation in projects, if there is a need and the candidate, has shown good capacity in developing relevant skills;

Stage 3 (> 36 months)

  • Tasks of Stage 2;
  • Support the development of the STS screening service;
  • Qualify for STS training Assessor, subject to company requirements;

The stages are indicative, according to the company's needs and subject to continuous assessment of the candidate.

Duties include

  • Your presence in the office or working remotely when needed
  • When needed, remote work is feasible
  • 88-night shifts (on call) per annum (23:00-08:00). Night shifts take place from your place. Next working day is off to comply with rest-hours
  • 15-17 weekends shifts (on call) per annum, Saturday 08:00 - Monday 08:00. Next Monday is off to comply with rest hours
